Your Pre-Launch Checklist!

December 21, 2020

We all know the pressure that comes when it’s finally time to launch a website. With all the complexities, we can often catch ourselves thinking of all the things that could go wrong. No one wants to experience the frustration of grammatical errors or a failed capture form. That’s why we created our Pre-Launch essential checklist for you to use when it’s time to finally go live with your website! You can say goodbye to all of your website worries, and hello to organization and efficiency. So grab a notebook and a pen, because we are going to jump right into it!

1. How Does It Look On Social?

Make sure you test to see what your link will look like on social media! The social meta plays a big role in compelling a viewer to click. In order to do this, the image, headline, and description need to be crafted with the intention of getting a click. Having a poor social meta tag can even result in the user trashing the post altogether. Test your meta tags and make sure they are captivating and seamless.

2. This Is A Tab World – Change Your Favicon!

Favicons are small but mighty! That itty bitty graphic carries the weight of your brand in every search history, bookmark list, browser tab, and search result. Favicons provide brand credibility, trust from your clients, follow up visits, and more. They even help your users save time when searching for your website. It is important that your favicon is high quality, recognizable, and reflective of your brand.

3. Mobile Versions Matter – A Lot!

According to Statista.com, Mobile accounts for approximately half of the web traffic worldwide. In the third quarter of 2020, mobile devices (excluding tablets) generated 50.81 percent of global website traffic, consistently hovering around the 50 percent mark since the beginning of 2017. (Source:https://www.statista.com/statistics/277125/share-of-website-traffic-coming-from-mobile-devices/). This means that your website needs to look good on both desktop and mobile devices! Make sure to check out your site on a mobile phone before launching to make sure everything flows perfectly.

4. Track Your Analytics All In One Place

Make sure you have your analytics and tracking software set up and ready to go. The users visiting your website are leaving behind valuable data for you to use to your advantage. Failing to set up your Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel can lead to a great loss. Make sure you are capturing all of that vital information so you can use your website to the best of its abilities!

5. Proofread Proofread Proofread!

It may seem like the most obvious step on the list, but we know that grammatical errors are some of the most common mistakes you will find once your site goes live. We all tend to think about the big stuff, but even the smallest mistake can take your website from legit to flawed. Grammatical errors can lower your client’s trust in your brand and can have them questioning your credibility. Make sure the site is proofread by multiple team members thoroughly before it goes live!
